Yoga Nidra (yogic sleep) is a powerful meditation technique and one of the easiest yoga practices. This state of consciousness, a light withdrawal of the 5 senses, known as pratyahara, allows internalization of the four senses while only hearing the instructions of your guide. While the practitioner rests comfortably in savasana (corpse pose), your guide will systematically move you through the panchamayakoshas (five layers of self), allowing you to become completely relaxed, to connect with your deeper self and leaving you with a sense of wholeness and calmness.
30 minutes of Yoga Nidra is the equivalent of 2-4 hours of sleep and its benefits are immediate. It is enormously beneficial for reducing tension and anxiety and is a common technique used for helping individuals with PTSD. This practice is for everyone!
